Snowflake Challenge #1 - Intro post

Hello! I'm Lily (30, they/them), working my way towards using Dreamwidth again!

• Transformative Works Policy: I post my fanfiction entirely over at AO3 these days - I'm cool with remixes, translations, and podfics, as long as I'm asked first and linked to the end result. I also draw fanart, which I post to Tumblr and Twitter, but I only have a properly maintained tag for it on Tumblr.


• Current Passion: My main fandom at the moment is Ensemble Stars - Valkyrie in particular - which I got into through the English release of the game. I've also written for Cardfight Vanguard, Sarazanmai, Devil Survivor, Sk8 the Infinity, and Ciel: The Last Autumn Story, and I'm still very fond of all of them! Other notable series I'm very into but haven't necessarily made a lot for include the When They Cry franchise (Gou/Sotsu included), Fire Emblem, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Heaven Official's Blessing (and to a lesser extent, Scum Villain), and Undertale/Deltarune!

This is far from a comprehensive list - there isn't really a fandom I've been involved in that I haven't maintained at least some interest in - but I think it gets across what you're most likely to hear about from me. And beyond stuff I'm into in a fandom sense, I'm also a big fan of horror! I am pretty much always looking for new movies, games, and books in the genre.

• Where to Find Me: I am on Twitter, but honestly I'm trying to wean myself off of it. Until I succeed, though, that's where you're most likely to see my headcanons, brainstorming ideas for fics, and posting doodles. I've mentioned Tumblr previously too, and I'm also pretty active on there - it's where I post more involved fanart and meta, as well as my fanmixes. And in both cases, I also do a lot of retweeting/reblogging.


• Master List: Don't have one at the moment. As far as fics go, everything I want people to see can be found on AO3, where it's all is easily sorted by fandom already. I do plan to make one for my fanmixes at some point, though.


• Anything Else: These days, I keep my social media presence strictly fannish, and talk very sparingly about any real life stuff, so that's what you can expect here too. Also: what I write about on my own is usually a lot more limited than what I'm interested in talking about (for example: I'm a multishipper, but there's usually only a couple of relationships per work that tickle my brain in a way that gets me to write stories about them).

One of my kids tried to get me to play Until Dawn, but I'm a scaredy cat. I got a little ways into it, got seriously freaked out, and stopped. But horror games look amazing, so I'm always tempted...

Ooh, yeah, I've heard a lot of good things about that one! I haven't played it myself (no PS4), but I'm planning to give the kinda-sequel The Quarry a try. :D Do you play a lot of other kinds of games?

I have several games on my Switch, and we have Tetris Effect on the PS5, which is a nice mindless thing if needed. I'm playing Hollow Knight, but have to take breaks from that one because it kicks my ass, but I adore it.

Nice! I've heard good things about Hollow Knight, but I don't know much about the gameplay. Sounds like it's pretty tough?

It's a metroidvania souls-like? It's vast and complicated, and I just love it to bits. It's beautiful hand-drawn animation and it's just gorgeous. But the souls-like thing - I've died so many times, and then I have to go kill my shade just to get my stuff back.

twitter_refugees is a good place to find friends from there and also resources on using Dreamwidth. It's easier to drop a venue once you have figured out how to replace what it was doing for you back when you liked it more.

For fanart, I have a list of active graphics communities. For meta, consider meta_warehouse or marchmetamatterschallenge.
